Our first ever real rainfall.
"Larry's 21st"
And finally, the Valentine's baby “Larry” turns 21. What was meant to start on the Saturday started prematurely on the Friday night before……
We had our first ever actual noise complaint which surprisingly given the distance between neighbours and some of the other gatherings we’ve had I am very surprised it was our first one – I put it down to the music of today (I was in bed quite early and was well asleep at 3.30am when we received the text from the neighbour)
I awoke to find a lot of tents set up, someone asleep on the roof in a swag, a lot of empty bottles, a few still awake drinking, fire still smouldering and a water truck – all the usual stuff you would expect from the start of a 21st weekend minus the water truck.
It was a great birthday weekend and I am so glad that Larry and his friends had a good time and in context they were all well behaved which added to a pleasurable weekend. It has been quite some years since I have caught up with a lot of Larry’s old mates some which he has known since his early infant years from both football and school circles and it was awesome to share a beer, joke and laugh with them at stages over the weekend.
Saturday seen the weekend – day kick off with the Oppy’s Gully Pro Golf tournament at our local golf course, which I must say (to our family members) it must be held again soon – one no scores were kept but most of all the participants were way to under the influence to be swinging golf clubs or driving golf carts for that matter.
Saturday night seen more arrive, both Audrey and I go to bed even earlier and even a stripper made an appearance later in the night, a birthday present from all of his mates.
I think the last count was 54 so by far the biggest gathering the farm has seen yet but all in all a great weekend…..”Happy 21st Larry”

BBL Big Boys
Wed 25th Jan 2017
The Big Bash Cricket has come so far this year. Given the Brisbane Heat had made the semi final Audrey convinced me in to buying and taking my boys to the cricket at the Gabba the day before Australia Day. Whilst I didn't really feel like going after the week that was I'm glad she did, whats more I cherish the time all the boys are together. Unfortunately it wasn't the Heat's night with the Sydney Sixers going through to the GF only to be smashed eventually by the Perth Scorchers. The whole concept of the Big Bash is very Americanized in my opinion but have to say, live an entertaining one. I dare say this one being the first there will be more games to come next year.

2017 Aussie Day
One of my favorite days of the year the "tripe J" top 100 day.
This year seen us at the farm on a very hot summer's day. Nothing like great tunes on the radio and with a little improvisation a portable pool. Great to see a very enjoyable top 100 this year pretty well much from start to finish. Though my prediction of Rufus taking number 1 was no where near it was awesome to see Flume, another young Aussie act take the honours this year. Had a wonderful day with Audrey, Boris and it was great to see Burnie and his family later in the day.... -
Take a drink
Maggie May......
Maggie May was quick to join in on the portable pool fun. Audrey and I were sharing a drink in the pool when she decided she wanted one too though watching her try to actually hop into the trailer wasn't so much fun. Being a pony she can be a lot more mischievous than the other two, still more than lovable all the same....
