Another colossal mistake at the farm, message to self don’t buy chickens at a market on a whim. I knew their would-be difficulties introducing more birds into the flock but what I underestimated was the age of the chickens. When we introduced the last two we had no problems “the white ones-the no names. And no, I am not racist its just these two are mad and have nowhere near the temperament as the others, thus not being named and possibly in the near future becoming our first kill at the farm. Anyways, we ended up with two new Australorps from the same chicken man in which we obtained Rodney from. Unfortunately, one hasn’t made it and the other one is now temporally residing in my garage at our city home. Though where there is pain there is gain and “Henny Penny” has become our favourite by far spending the weekend at the farm with us, never in a million years would I have expected to be walking around the farm with a chicken on my shoulder. She has also taken a liking to Moo the Bulldog I’m thinking she is starting to have identity problems, wouldn’t be the first at the funny farm. Hopefully with a couple of more weeks of growing we can have another crack of introducing her back into the flock.
