Proud

Though it has taken quite a considerable amount of time the garden including the veggie garden is really starting to get there. A lot of trial and era, patience, learning, sweat and dirt under the fingernails but the result is in the surroundings. I had a moment whilst walking to the horse shed recently where I just stopped "and smelt the roses so to speak" - there is still such a long way to go on the house, finish the bedroom and so many more pipeline projects still to go, it can be somewhat emotionally draining at times not to mention the physical toll it takes. I’m guessing patience is the key here, I have certainly come to that conclusion “we are only part timers” but I had a really proud moment this morning upon gazing the farm up and down “the farm has come such a long way” in 2 weeks off 3 years. The garden with the recent rain was looking stunningly beautiful in the morning rays. It’s just, you get so wrapped up working around it so much not to mention your head is full of the next jobs that you don’t really get the opportunity to just kick back, admire it and relish it. Slowly but surely it is coming together, still along way from being anywhere near finished yet one step forward, little by little. And if that wasn’t enough, right on que (every October) the same Magpie that has called our farm home since our arrival appeared with her new baby “a new cycle has begun”

"Two Old Moles"

Like the Chihuahua and the Bulldog these two girls get along pretty well. Most nights whenever you see Baby Jane lying down you will see Maggie standing over her keeping watch which is touching. Maggie would make a great Racehorse stable companion though she can be a little needy at times.

"Grass"

My latest liking is the different types of grasses, no not the smoking variety but the decorative. Here is Bunny Tails, Fountain Grass and Bluedale which I have recently seeded.

Our Little Filly

This horse hates the hose but has taken a liking to water - go figure?

"Wet weather boredom"

With my recent success in planting my own seedlings I have upgraded quite considerably. It might have actually started out all fun but by the end of the 3 hours I had periodically added the music and a couple of drinks in between to help me along. I have actually learnt so much over the past 12 Months about plant reproduction I'm becoming dangerous, still along way though from my "Guru" Costa (ABC Garden Show for the amateurs) I wonder if he gets the old Ipod out along with a few sneaky drinks.
