Happy New Year!!
Not only was it great to catch up with the kids over the holidays the farm also seen plenty of their friends’ action and New Years was no exception. It was great to catch up with a couple of them who I have known since nappies and they are seriously all a great bunch of kids. Slowly but surely, I think the kids are starting to appreciate the farm a little more “its just not that boring place up in the sticks” anymore. New Year's ended up being a great night we even had our own pyrotechnic fireworks show.
More Eggs needed!
As previously mentioned, because we never got around to replacing the flock, we were down to 6 hens with only 3 laying leading us to having to buy eggs for the first time in around 2.5 years. So, in come another 4 Isa Browns who seem to be the greatest producer of eggs we also reverted to the original place that we purchased the original chickens leading to no mistakes of the sex. Finally given all the disruptions, introducing and having 3 Roosters running around it shouldn’t be to long before we are back into the full swing of egg production.
