The new Flock arrives

Maggie lends a hand

This horse has an absolute beautiful soul, and, on this day, she stood exactly there for 2-3 hours observingly watching me clean the ute out inside and out. Sadly, the ute is no more making way for the new work truck which will be a little handier around the farm. Maggie basically owns the back steps now and I have no doubt now that the holidays are finished, she would be missing us just as much as we miss her.

Another Project complete

Another reason it has taken me so long to write, there were so many projects to get done in time for the holidays - this has now become my favourite. The arrival of the spa bath, selfish perhaps but well earnt I say. It certainly got a good work out both in the mornings and at night and after lying in it on the second night on a full moon with the stars shining, I was thankful I ran out of time and didn’t get the roof done. I’ve now decided to leave it roofless and I cannot not wait until winter when the same full moon will be out and about.

The Pizza Oven

You almost can't fail with the pizza oven and a thermometer.

No it's not Henny Penny!!

I have cooked a turkey three years straight now and I have to say it takes at least 2-3 times to get it right. This year I got a little more experimental with the stuffing (kind of a no no in itself, potentially wrecking the bird) and whilst I wasn't happy with it I was happy with the end result - using both the Weber and Pizza Oven. And yes the two little Roosters left us over the break and no I couldn't bring myself to eating them.
