Boris Graduates

Well another couple of weeks have got away from me “Again” but the Month of June has been an extremely busy one for Audrey and myself.
The chook pen has finally been completed nearing a Month and a bit project, my focus these past 4 weekends. The fruits trees are starting to bear fruit Nectarines, Lemons, Passionfruit and even one Orange has appeared though a very small yield given the fruit trees are only a year old we must be doing something right.
This Month has been huge for young Boris, his first car on the road a licence, a birthday and if that was not enough a graduation from High school – both Audrey and myself have had a heap of proud moments with the kid these past couple of weeks, he has come such a long way over the past couple of years and is blossoming into a wonderful young man before our eyes.
The horses have been great and now they are sharing the farm with chickens, more mouths to feed but must say a warm and fuzzy feeling waking up each morning hearing the sounds of clucking. We purchased the chickens point of lay so it shouldn't be too long before we are seeing eggs.
Boris looked the dashing young man he is and it was great to be apart of his suite selection.

Visitors

My two gorgeous nieces and nephew came for a visit this weekend along with a helping hand from their Dad. The front of the chicken coop got a great workout - and if all else fails the coop will make a great playground slash "monkey bars". It has been a quite a while since Audrey and I had seen them at the farm so all in all it was a great catch up.

Meet Ironman the new Scarecrow

A pretty quiet weekend this one, a little bit of gardening, a bit of tinkering and a little more on the coop. Having not welded before and the fact that Graham needed something to practice on to set the welder right (he can weld awesome) I decided a few practice runs was a must. Audrey once asked Graham for a statue work of art and with this in mind I gathered all the offcuts and away we went. Still a work in progress, watch this space netherless I still have a long way before I become a master craftsmen at welding.
