"Aunty holds an art class"

Unty (no not spelt incorrectly) just the way it is said picked up new gum boots for the nieces and nephew during the week and held a picnic under a tree whilst they decorated their boots.....

My Boys fly the coop

Our city house has become much quieter and from 5 there is 2 kids still with us. Larry has been staying with us for around 3 Months, Rupert just over a year and Rusty has been with me for the past couple of years. This was met with sadness losing the 3 of them all at once but I have relished the quality time spent with them and there is nothing more in this world that makes me prouder when all the kids are sitting at the dinner table discussing their days together.
All the boys have decided to move into a house together and it has been great to watch all their relationships grow within each other, something that probably would have never happened without the turn of our worlds fate. Sure, some unfruitful circumstances may have brought us all together again but the outcome had left me feeling I wouldn’t have changed a thing and only all positives have come from it. Not to mention both my unit and Audrey’s unit became one unit, there is a true sensibility of love now for each other there now, each bring their own aura of love.
Rupert came back to me broken and I have watched him grow so much within himself these past 12 Months, yes sure things have been tough at times between us both but I cannot come up with the words that describe just how thankful I am that I got to know him as a young man, again good always come from bad.
Larry has been here for just over 3 Months getting back on his feet again bringing his wittiness humour and it was refreshing having him stay with us and not since I separated from his Mother several years ago have we spent such quality time together. It is a lot different when your kids come back to you as a young adult there are elements of getting to know them again in several senses and without explanation, if you have kids I’ll leave you ponder on that.
Finally, “Rusty” the one that has and will affect me the most with his absence, I have watched him go from high school to working in the real world where reality of life can hit you like a brick wall. I have watched him grow so much from our time spent together and I thank Audrey for all her guidance and help with both of us. Not that I play favourites I realised several years ago as much as a parent tries to justify their thinking that there is one kid, more like their self there isn’t really, not in my case any way. I think they all have some of my traits and at times it is evident whether it is something that comes out of their mouth, a course of thinking, an action or a facial expression they all have something and I don’t think one holds more than the other. Sure, they are all different from being a protector to a thinker, they are all each in their own way special. The same could be said with Boris, Maudy and Audrey and I could draw similarities from all 3 of them, each different but special.
Nether less it is all part of growing up both as a parent and a kid, a part of life that leaves you feeling sad but at the same time happy with a sense of proudness about it all especially given the fact they have all moved in together.
All the kids are closer now a value and something that is very important, special to both myself and Audrey.

Chickens arrive

Right or wrong Audrey wanted a Chinese Silky to join the flock. All the girls 6 in total have been named after female diva singers and suitably the Silky has been named “Florence”. We also have Cyndi, Madonna, Paloma, Anouk and Nelly,
The first night seen Florence sleeping in bed with us “yep that’s right in our bed” – the second night Audrey was offered the spare bedroom, consequently Florence joined the flock the second night.
I didn’t know chickens could be so predigest and given this I am having to get another Silky later in the week to join Florence. At the very least it will give Florence a little rest from being chased around the pen.
